Originally realised back in 2017. My debut book, Goa : A Lesson in Life receives a long-overdue edit, professional cover, long-lost images, and an extra chapter, bringing my story to a close and up to date.
So, what’s it all about?
Back in August 2006, I visited Goa, India. A trip that affected my outlook on life, views on my country, and my attitude towards others of all backgrounds. In 2015, I finally decided to put down in writing all the experiences I encountered, not least my admiration for India, its people, and its culture.
In 2021, this second edition completes my journey.
What sort of reception did the first edition of Goa : A Lesson in Life receive?
Goa : A Lesson in Life (first edition) received 5-star reviews on Amazon and a high overall rating. Here’s just a few of them..,
“Utterly mesmerizing read…”
“As an avid lover of Goa, this book took me on one man’s adventure to the land of paradise… “
“…It’s the perfect book, full of ups and downs, that we all go through year after year to visit this beautiful country….”
“An enjoyable and engaging account of a month in Goa. A well put together piece blending humour, thoughtfulness and a simple observational style.”
Where and when can I buy Goa: A Lesson In Life. Second Edition.
June 2021 (Hopefully early). Available on eBook or paperback exclusively from Amazon. There’s also an audiobook available for the first edition only.
Why the Second Edition?
Although the first edition has sold surprisingly well, as a writer, I’ve learned a lot since its release. The main reason for a new edition is that it deserves to be presented in the best way I can. I’ve taken on board all the valuable feedback and produced a package I hope will do it justice.
To complete my journey, and tie things right up to the present day, I’ve included an extra chapter/Epilogue (I don’t want to spoil the surprise too much).
Editing wise, I’ve followed my own advice, gathered over the years, and have lovingly pawed over the manuscript with a fine toothcomb. I hope you’ll agree it’s a far more polished and considered piece. Personally? I enjoy this sort of thing and It’s been well worth the effort.
I hope you’ll agree the new cover looks fantastic! This was designed for me by germancreative and I think nails the message I wanted to convey. It’s bright, colourful, vivid, vibrant, and I hope pops out to potential readers.
Lastly, I wanted to include some images of my journey. I mention in the book that I lost all the photos I took when Bebo went down, But luckily, not all of them! I hope these add to the experience.
More announcements to follow soon!
