New Years Day: Celebrating 100 YouTube Subs with a Song

Celebrating 100 Subs with a Song: New Years Day. The Blogging Musician @ adamharkus.com

Thanks to all for getting us over our first milestone, the 100 YouTube subscriber mark! Here’s a song: New Years Day.

To celebrate, I’ve had a few requests to play a song, so I picked one from my back catalog entitled ‘New Years Day’. It’s a song I wrote around 15 years ago about putting the past behind you, keeping your dreams alive and coming together to see in the New Year.

I never got round to recording it, so this seemed like a good time to put it out there.

In these uncertain times of coronavirus, I myself had a bit of a refocus on the things I used to enjoy before ‘life’ got in the way (the acoustic guitar and songwriting being two of them). The lockdown has slowed things down and gave us more time to think, which is good!

Let me know about some of the positives you’ve got out of this horrible situation we all find ourselves in.

Anyway, I thought it was apt, and hope you enjoy it.

New Years Day

An original song, written and performed by Adam Harkus.

Lyrics:

Got a dream in my hand

That can wait until the end

But I don’t know what life is like without you there

I can’t say how it goes

Just the way I’ve always known

Nearly time to make things right again

On New Years Day

All the world’s getting near

Everybody’s coming here

Though we may not always smile along the way

Looking back no regrets at the wasted years we’ve had

Celebrate

We’ll always feel this way

On New Years Day
