About

Adam Harkus Music

I’m a guitarist and singer/songwriter with a new-found passion for sharing all the knowledge and experiences I’ve picked up in over 20 years of playing, writing, and producing music.

I began my blogging journey on Hubpages way back in 2015 with guitar reviews and quickly discovered it wasn’t just music I wanted to write about, I was developing an interest in writing itself! From here, I embarked on chronicling a trip to Goa in 2006, which went onto becoming my first publication Goa: A Lesson in Life.

In late 2016, in an effort to give myself more creative freedom and control, I moved away from Hubpages, and onto my own self-hosted domain https://adamharkus.com. Also around this time, I released my debut music album This Is Who I Am while continuing to publish articles around the processes of songwriting and music production along the way.

By 2018, The Blogging Musician branding was born as my interest in blogging intensified along with a newly acquired team of contributors which pushed the blog forward in terms of quality and diversity into previously untouched and exciting topics such as Music Therapy, the Music Business, Guitar Lessons and, in keeping with the themes of my own writing, Travel. A special mention has to go to my good friend Niko Lalangas for his many articles that paved the way to a collaboration with one of the world’s pre-eminent musical instrument manufacturing companies; Line 6

2019 marked the publication of my second travel-blog-which-became-a-book: Prague: The Musical City, in which I attempted to apply everything I’d learned so far in the quality of the writing and the editing.

In 2020 I launched my YouTube channel to complement the blog but focusing on original music, guitar lessons, and tips. When You’re in Love and In Our Hands, my first new music in almost five years was also released, along with accompanying videos.

Today, The Blogging Musician’s aim is to provide a resource community for guitarists, musicians, and writers, whilst still providing a platform for my own music, thoughts, and observations, from COVID and Dad diaries to tips on blogging itself and even the Golden Age of the Video Game Arcade.

Welcome to my Blog!
