250 YouTube Subscribers!

I’ve now passed 250 YouTube subscribers, a quarter of the way there. Thank you!

One of my key blogging goals for 2023 was to hit the magic 1000 YouTube subscriber mark. I’ve dabbled with YouTube in the past, but so far this year I’ve already uploaded 3 videos, which is paying dividends. I’m still a long way off, but if it continues on this trajectory I’m hoping to put a large dent in that target by the end of the year.

Ultimately, YouTube could be the key to the long-term development of the blog, providing another traffic funnel and audience. Blogging is really just a numbers game, and YouTube will increase those numbers, but the nice thing is, I’m actually getting into the YouTube side a lot more, having at last invested in some equipment.

So what’s my YouTube Channel all about?

Initially, it was a place to dump all my original music and music videos, and still is! Then, when lockdown hit, I retired to the shed and put together a few guitar tip/lesson videos, which I really enjoyed. However, the bulk of my audience is turning to, unsurprisingly, the same thing that made the blog popular: Guitar gear reviews. I’m finding that gear reviews can be done a lot more efficiently with a video, as well as providing richer content. In the coming months. I’m looking to put together a few ‘Music Production with GarageBand’ videos, so stay tuned!

I’ve recently categorised the content into the above themes, for easy access, and set up a community tab for more direct interaction.
