Zoog Pedalboard: Flawless Handcrafted Wooden Pedalboards from Austin, TX
Zoog Pedalboard was founded in 2018 in Austin, TX. The company has now expanded to a small team of like-minded musician/craftsmen. Zoog takes a bit of a different approach when it comes to re-thinking what effects rig should be. They’re very style focused but the construction and functionality of the boards are very much up to par with serious touring pedalboard brands.
One really cool thing about the design is it’s made to compliment the look of pedals, like the pedalboard and pedals were one unified piece of gear. They’ve carefully considered each dimension and feature of the board and build entirely from solid walnut. Even the entire top deck is beautiful natural wood.
The weight? Surprisingly manageable, of course you won’t get the same weight as an aluminum board but that’s a entirely different place in the pedalboard market. In other words, if you’re looking for a wooden board, you’re probably not comparing with pedal train/templeboards/etc… As far as wooden boards go, it’s safe to say, these guys are doing it right.
While some companies will offer just about any variation and custom spec, Zoog pedalboard focuses on three common sized board and crafts them to perfection. You’ll find amongst their catalogue, the 1221, 1224, and 617 (referring to the size in inches) models, all available in either walnut, or oak wood.
